Melissa Reagan is a member in Sherman & Howard’s Trial Department, where she is a part of the firm’s Data Security and Privacy Group. She also serves as the associate coordinator for the firm overseeing the development and recruitment of the firm’s associates. Melissa has worked with companies for more than 10 years, advising and representing companies in a wide range of litigation, general business, data security and privacy, and telecommunications matters. She serves as trial counsel and advisor on corporate governance, officer and director liability, business tort, commercial, financial institutions, and telecommunications, in addition to advising clients on corporate governance and business strategy as well as risk assessment, internal investigations, and litigation analysis.

Melissa works with clients to achieve solutions to business dispute by early evaluation and by creating strategies to achieve results. She dedicates a significant part of her practice to data privacy and security matters.

Representative Matters
  • Trial counsel and advisor on corporate governance, officer and director liability, business tort and commercial cases
  • Managed investigation, responses and notifications of data breaches for clients
  • Consults with clients on document management systems, document retention policies, litigation hold policies, incident response plans and e-Discovery issues to reduce risks and costs and facilitate dispute resolution before, during, and after trial
  • Represented clients in corporate investigations evaluating and reporting on suspected misconduct and addressing potential claims
  • Advisor to and regional counsel for personal wireless services providers on federal and state legal and regulatory matters, local land use and zoning. Represents personal wireless service providers at zoning and agency hearings
  • Advise and represent clients on insurance coverage matters
  • Obtained arbitration award for real estate developer on complex tax fraud matter
  • Obtained order overturning mutli-million dollar jury verdict on breach of contract matter
