The American Lawyer Quoted Sherman & Howard Attorney Melissa Reagan
The American Lawyer this week quoted Sherman & Howard member and talent acquisition chair Melissa Reagan in a story featuring a coalition effort to bring more racially diverse attorneys to the Denver market as a whole.
The article is entitled, “Putting Competition Aside, Denver’s 5 Largest Law Firms Join Forces to Improve Racial Diversity.”
The story features the Denver Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion, an initiative started in 2020 by Denver’s five largest law firms — Sherman & Howard, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Davis Graham & Stubbs, Holland & Hart, and Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell. Together, each firm works in concert to bring more racial diversity into the Denver legal arena by recruiting talent from other markets, such as Chicago.
In the article, Reagan said the goal of the coalition “is to achieve a ‘critical mass of diverse attorneys and build from there.’”
“We’re bringing meaningful relationships across the entire state of Colorado. That means if (one position) doesn’t work out, we’re providing these attorneys with a network to go in-house or to the government.”
