DENVER (January 2, 2024) – Sherman & Howard is pleased to announce the addition of corporate and political law attorney Terrance Carroll to the firm’s Business and Real Estate practice group in the Denver office.

With a passion for politics and law that began back in elementary school, Carroll knew he wanted to make a positive impact on people’s lives. In 2003, while still in law school, he was appointed to the Colorado House of Representatives, and in 2008 he became the 54^th speaker of the House, the only African American to do so.

“Due to my lived experiences in life and politics, I believe I have a refreshing perspective on law and dedicate myself to working on behalf of others,” said Carroll. “I give advice grounded in reality and have the ability to relate to my clients on a more personal level.”

Carroll leverages his intimate knowledge of government and politics to help clients. He represents clients in corporate and transactional matters, as well as regulatory and political law. His clients range from those seeking his advice on navigating the complex political, governmental, and regulatory environment to serving as corporate counsel for small-to-mid sized companies and minority-owned businesses.

Carroll grew up in Washington, D.C. with a mother who was active in politics. He began a career in law enforcement and eventually made his way to law school. Carroll received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver – Sturm College of Law and earned his undergraduate degree at Morehouse College.
