Garth Jensen Shares Insights with Denver Business Journal Article About IPOs

The Denver Business Journal recently published an article on the initial public offering (IPO) market in which Sherman & Howard’s  Garth Jensen shares his insights on how companies operate before going public. Jensen speaks about an IPO company’s hiring of key roles, increasing sales, and growing a market presence.

Below is an excerpt from the article.


Adding to a company’s sales force, be it people or signing new contracts, may indicate plans to go public, too.

If a company grows its sales team, it does so to have “great numbers” by the time it wants to become publicly owned and traded. That creates an “upward trend, and that’s going to make the market very exciting,” Jensen said. He added that a company may add to its sales team to increase profits, whether it plans to go public or not.

Before Lightning eMotors went public, it announced two orders from Fluid Truck, totaling 640 new sales.

Within the last year, Ibotta touted seeing “enormous” use of its platform and partnered with Dollar General on a cash-back program.
