Colorado Sun Features S&H Attorney Diane Wozniak Before Her Fourth Boston Marathon

The Colorado Sun featured family law attorney Diane Wozniak in a story about her experience as a marathon runner who survived the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing by just minutes and her journey back to the race for the 10th anniversary of that bombing.

Wozniak, who has been with Sherman & Howard for a little more than five years, has run the Boston Marathon three times, her third being the bombing that left a decade-long scar. On April 17, she will return for her fourth marathon on the 10th anniversary of the bombing.

The article discusses how Wozniak has been a runner since college and today uses running as a time to think and work through the complexities of her cases.

“Running gave Wozniak close friends, her husband and her sanity: It helped with her anxiety, figure out her tough cases and gave her a way to process life.”

Here are some of her comments.

‘Races are our gathering places. This peaceful place I go to for lots of different reasons was now … broken.’

‘Being back in that community, being there will really showcase what it means to be alive, to keep going, to show up and celebrate.’
