DENVER (Jan. 18, 2023) – Christian Hendrickson has been elected chairman of the New Mexico State University Foundation Board. As chair of the 21-member board, he will lead fundraising efforts to  fuel scholarships and university support.

Hendrickson (Class of ’97) was one of many students who benefitted from financial assistance that helped him attend NMSU, a decision that opened countless doors for his academic, personal, and professional growth.  He has spent the past 10 years serving on the NMSU Foundation Board to help others gain access to similar opportunities at the university.

“I am humbled and honored by this appointment, which hopefully shows my commitment to the community and to the importance of education, particularly to my smaller school with real diversity,” Hendrickson said. “I am proud to serve in this role as a way of expressing gratitude to those who came before me and helped provide financial assistance with my invaluable college education, and I hope to help others both in gaining initial access to a similar college experience and to continue to receive help throughout their time at the university so they can stay focused on education while there.”

After receiving his B.A. with distinction from NMSU, Hendrickson earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law. He has been with Sherman & Howard since 2007. He focuses his practice on disputes involving commercial contracts; banking and finance; tort claims; and construction, business, and real estate.
