Richard “Rick” Bednarski has more than 15 years of experience representing individuals and corporations who have been charged with criminal offenses in both state and federal court.

Rick is a member of Sherman & Howard’s Litigation department. He is dedicated to his clients and achieving the best outcome for them, either through negotiations or trial. He has tried more than 50 cases involving traffic infractions to the most serious of felonies in both state and federal court. Rick has recently been nominated and voted into the prestigious American Board of Criminal Lawyers, which is an organization of the most respected and great criminal defense lawyers in America. Furthermore, he also handles civil cases, involving personal injury, wrongful death, professional malpractice, fraud and others.

Experience

  • Routinely handles a wide range of cases including white collar-business and corporate, fraud, Internet crimes, securities investigations and offenses and government contract investigations.
  • Represents individuals and businesses in civil litigation matters in both Federal and State courts.
  • Tried more than 50 criminal and civil cases to juries, including White Collars Crimes, Fraud, Theft, First Degree Murder, Assaults, Sex Offenses, Drug Possession and Distribution, and Serious Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases.
  • Successfully defended hundreds of individuals and corporations regarding serious allegations in both state and federal court.
  • Represents plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving wrongful death, fraud, professional malpractice, personal injury and others.  In 2005, Rick with Richard Tegtmeier, won what is believed to be the largest wrongful death verdict ever in Colorado of $32.4 million.
