Sherman & Howard Names New CEO

Densen succeeds Mike Sanchez who managed the firm since 1991

DENVER – On January 4, Gregory T. Densen took over as Chief Executive of Sherman & Howard, one of Denver’s largest and most respected law firms. Greg succeeds R. Michael Sanchez, who has managed the firm since 1991. Mike will continue to serve as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Greg makes the transition to CEO at a time of considerable expansion for the firm. In 2015 Sherman & Howard grew by 16%, adding 20 new lawyers. The firm now has more than 190 attorneys in 11 markets nationwide. Under Greg’ leadership, the firm will continue its tradition of excellence in personnel, service and results, while focusing on opportunities to offer new and innovative legal solutions for businesses, public institutions and individuals.

“It is an honor to be chosen to lead this talented group of attorneys and staff who are instrumental to the continued success of the firm,” Densen said. He added that Mike’s contributions to the success and stability of the firm cannot be overstated. “The way our firm is managed gives our lawyers the opportunity to serve clients in a unique and special way that sets us apart from our competitors,” Densen said. “We all owe Mike a debt of gratitude for that and for his leadership during the last 25 years.”

At 43 years old, Greg is one of the youngest law firm managing partners in the country. He joined Sherman & Howard in 1998 following his graduation from the University of Iowa College of Law. Since then he has become a well-known estate planning lawyer and is recognized in the current editions of Best Lawyers in America, Colorado Super Lawyers and 5280 Top Lawyers. In 2013, he was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, one of only 58 Colorado attorneys who received this honor.

Sherman & Howard, established in 1892, will celebrate the firm’s 125 year anniversary in 2017.
