Mark Williams Elected Senior Co-chair of Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation Executive Committee
DENVER (September 12, 2023) – Mark Williams has been elected as senior co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (MDEDC), an affiliate of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce (DMCC). The MDEDC is the nation’s first regional economic development entity, bringing together the entire nine-county Metro Denver and Northern Colorado region to promote and support the mutual growth of the region’s talent and businesses.
According to the MDEDC’s website, the “Executive Committee plays a lead role in strategic and international, as well as regional growth. It works to identify companies wishing to relocate to Colorado and to retain companies already supporting the economy. Additionally, it oversees the funding for regional projects the MDEDC team takes on.”
“Mark’s passion for Colorado and the Metro Denver area, as well as his background in business and corporate governance, commercial, financial institution, and telecommunications law, will be valuable to our organization,” said President of MDEDC Raymond H. Gonzales. “We’re excited to welcome Mark to his new role and look forward to his leadership in helping position us and our partners for growth in the next year.”
“Mark has worked side-by-side with the MDEDC for the past two years serving as the co-chair of the Board of Governors and has done tremendous work,” said J. J. Ament, President and CEO of the DMCC. “He is dedicated to the organization’s mission to make the Metro Denver area a better place to live and work.”
Williams brings more than 35 years of practical experience in providing guidance to large national and international corporations, regional businesses, and entrepreneurial ventures on wide-ranging litigation, general business, and transactional matters. He represents clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. He acts as counsel to clients facing regulatory proceedings before federal, state, and local government agencies.
“I’m honored to be elected in this new role and be a part of making decisions that have a direct impact on defining economic development projects,” said Williams. “I share the MDEDC’s vision of bringing businesses and growth to the region, as well as to achieve economic empowerment for every Coloradan. I look forward to working together to shape the economic and employment future of the Metro Denver area.”
