DENVER (November 10, 2023) – Sherman & Howard water law attorney James Eklund has been appointed to the Douglas County Water Commission, representing Commissioner District I. This commission is tasked with developing an expert-informed 2050 Comprehensive Water Plan that will identify strategic policies addressing water infrastructure and storage, supply acquisition, reclamation, conservation practices, the water-land use nexus, and agricultural efficiency and broaden public awareness of water supply and provision of services issues in Douglas County, Colorado.

There are 11 members on the Douglas County Water Commission with three appointees from each district and two appointees at large.
