Euromoney’s Expert Guides published an article by Sherman & Howard Members, David Wilson and Adrian “Jay” Leonard IV, entitled, “Emergency Arbitrator Rules Among Four Major Arbitral Institutions: Both Alike and Different.”  The article describes differences and similarities in the emergency arbitrator rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

Emergency arbitrators address applications for injunctive or other interim relief before the arbitral tribunal is constituted. The article discusses how these four institutions appoint emergency arbitrators, how the emergency arbitrator proceedings are conducted, the nature and enforceability of the emergency arbitrator’s decision, and the institutions’ and the emergency arbitrators’ fees.
