Brooke Colaizzi was quoted in Law Week Colorado Regarding the Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program Bill

Law Week Colorado quoted Labor & Employment attorney, Brooke Colaizzi regarding recent changes made to the paid family and medical leave insurance program bill by the sponsors of the bill. The changes include several compromises to appease the business community.

One of the compromises reduced the maximum leave time from between 12 and 16 weeks to simply 12 weeks. In the original bill a person could receive up to four weeks for pregnancy-related complications in addition to the 12-week cap.

Ms. Colaizzi noted the simplification of the bill is helpful to employers but also noted that important issues related to administration and feasibility remained unaddressed.
