PHOENIX (June 12, 2023) – The Arizona governor’s office has recognized Sherman & Howard for its service to state government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The firm’s attorneys, paralegals, and staff assisted the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) on nearly every pandemic-related legal issue and in litigation regarding business closures, re-openings, and confidential enhanced surveillance advisory records during the pandemic.

The proclamation reads: “Thank you for serving the people of Arizona … The hours you devoted, your commitment to public service, and your invaluable assistance is greatly appreciated.”

The uncertain times during the pandemic, with business closures and stay-at-home orders, presented many challenges for governments in an unprecedented situation — one that called for legal counsel at many levels.

“Those were challenging times in uncharted waters,” Falls said.

“We had to help our client make difficult decisions,” said Craig Morgan, a member who worked on the team. “We care a lot about Arizona. Everything we did was for the people in the state. For the state to recognize all our efforts is very much appreciated.”
