Webinar: Colorado’s Pay Equity Law – Is Your Company Prepared?
On January 1, 2021, Colorado’s enhanced Equal Pay for Equal Work Act will take effect. The law prohibits discriminatory pay practices on the basis of gender and applies to companies with employees in the state.
This adds Colorado to the growing list of states with pay equity legislation that is stricter than federal law.
In this webinar, co-hosted by Sherman & Howard and Equity Methods, employment law veteran Heather Vickles and Senior Manager of Valuation & HR Advisory Services Therese Sebastian discussed the main legal requirements of the law.
HR professionals and in-house counsel will learn about key considerations when performing a pay equity audit, such as:
- Highlights of the new legislation and their impact on hiring and compensation practices
- The law’s safe harbor provision and how it can be used to limit potential liability
- Best practices in performing a comprehensive pay equity audit that stands up to scrutiny
This legislation will impact all employers located in Colorado. Watch the recording below to remain informed about this new legislation and learn emerging best practices in pay equity assessment and implementation.
