Sherman & Howard Continues Growth into 2020, Adds Two New Associates

DENVER, Colo. (Dec. 10, 2019) — Sherman & Howard is pleased to announce the addition of Elizabeth Peterkort to the firm’s Estate & Tax Planning group and Cory Smith to the firm’s Corporate & Transactional group.

Peterkort joins Sherman & Howard from Baker & McKenzie, LLP, in Palo Alto, CA, where she practiced as an integral associate for the firm’s Tax team. Prior to her work at Baker & McKenzie, Peterkort graduated magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where she also served as the senior editor of the Michigan Law Review. While in law school, she also held several internships and associateships, including time spent as a U.S. District Court judicial intern in Portland, OR.

Smith joins Sherman & Howard’s Corporate & Transactional group after two years at Perkins Cole, LLP. As an associate of the firm’s Business Corporate group, Smith was responsible for advising both public and private companies in complex corporate transactions and providing guidance on securities compliance and general corporate matters. Smith also received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he earned cum laude honors and was a contributing editor of the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.

Both new hires are part of Sherman & Howard’s continued emphasis on growing the individual practices heading into 2020.
