Sherman & Howard Announces Election of New Members

February 3, 2016 – Sherman & Howard is pleased to announce the election of six new lawyers to membership at its annual meeting on January 26, 2016. They are Jessica Broderick, Joseph Daniels, Kellie Nelson Fetter, Matthew Morrison, Gabriel Peraza and Bryan Stillwagon.

Jessica Broderick is a Member in Sherman & Howard’s Estate Planning Group in Denver where she represents individuals and families in the development of their estate plans and provides advice on associated business, marital, and charitable planning. She also represents individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries regarding estate, trust, conservatorship and guardianship administration, and assists clients in litigation regarding such matters. Jessica joined Sherman & Howard as a summer associate in 2007 and then as an associate in 2008 after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was Order of the Coif and Production Editor for the University of Colorado Law Review. She received her BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004. Jessica currently serves as the chair of the Colorado Bar Association Trust and Estates Section Uniform Trust Decanting Act Committee and as a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council and is licensed to practice in both Colorado and Wyoming.

Joseph Daniels is a Member in Sherman & Howard’s Litigation, Trial and Appeals Group in Denver. He assists clients in all aspects of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motions practice, trial, and post-litigation issues. He has litigated cases in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts as well as arbitration proceedings, and has particular experience advising clients in contract, financial services, telecommunications, oil and gas, intellectual property, and corporate disputes. Joe joined Sherman & Howard in 2012 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2009, with high distinction, where he served as Articles Editor for the Iowa Law Review. Kellie Nelson Fetter is a Member in the Litigation, Trial and Appeals Group in the firm’s Denver office. She counsels clients ranging in size from international corporations to local entrepreneurs through the complexities of business disputes to achieve favorable outcomes. Her experience includes breach of contract allegations, securities fraud, insurance coverage, and negligence and she has represented companies in a variety of industries, including construction, banking, and energy and natural resources. Kellie joined Sherman & Howard as a summer associate in 2008 and then as an associate following her graduation from the University of Wyoming College of Law, Order of the Coif, in 2009 where she served as Comment Editor of the Wyoming Law Review. She earned her Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, also from the University of Wyoming in 2006. Kellie has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Colorado Super Lawyers in both 2015 and 2016. Matthew Morrison is a Member in Sherman & Howard’s Labor and Employment Practice Group in Denver. His practice covers a wide array of issues impacting employers and he has experience representing companies in labor disputes and in federal and state courts in cases arising under Title VII, the FLSA, the ADA, and other EEO statutes. He also has significant experience advising employers on occupational safety and health compliance, OSHA inspections and citations, and the development of safety and health programs and defends businesses before the federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and state-plan occupational safety and health boards. Matt was a summer associate at Sherman & Howard in 2008 and joined the firm as an associate after earning his JD from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2009 where he was Order of the Coif and a Member of the University of Colorado Law Review. Gabriel Peraza is a Member in Sherman & Howard’s Litigation, Trials and Appeals Practice Group in the firm’s Phoenix office. He has significant experience representing clients in many aspects of commercial litigation ranging from complex commercial disputes to common breach of contract matters. Gabe has successfully represented clients in matters before courts at both the federal and state levels and matters before alternative dispute resolution tribunals, including the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Gabe also represents a large, national home builder in real estate matters. Gabe joined Sherman & Howard in 2009 after earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Bryan Stillwagon is a Member in the Labor and Employment Department in Sherman & Howard’s Atlanta office. He has significant experience representing companies on a broad spectrum of issues affecting the employer-employee relationship, including defending against numerous claims brought by plaintiffs and the EEOC under Title VII, the ADEA, and the ADA. Bryan has spent significant time advising and defending clients in exempt status and independent contractor matters under the FLSA on both an individual and collective action basis. His litigation experience also includes representation of companies and high-level executives in lawsuits involving the enforcement of employment agreements and restrictive covenants. Bryan joined Sherman & Howard in 2013 when the firm opened its Atlanta office.
