OSHA Breakfast Presentation: What Every Human Resources Professional Needs to Know About OSHA’s New Anti-Retaliation Rules

Sherman & Howard’s Safety and Health Practice Groupinvites you to attend a complimentary breakfast and discussion.

On May 11, 2016, OSHA amended its existing Injury and Illness Recordkeeping Rule.  While much attention has been paid to new requirements that employers electronically submit their injury and illness data records to OSHA starting in 2017, equally important anti-retaliation provisions of the new rule go into effect August 10, 2016.

Understanding these discrimination requirements are not only critical to company health and safety personnel but in our opinion, human resource personnel who in many cases will be handling these cases.

This presentation will summarize the new anti-retaliation rules.  It will also suggest recommendations for what
employers should be doing now, including handbook revisions, employee notifications, and
procedures for handling OSHA discrimination investigations.
