DENVER, Colo. (June 1, 2020) Sherman & Howard attorney Gordon “Skip” Netzorg was quoted in a recent Law Week Colorado issue regarding his recognition as a 2020 Colorado Super Lawyers Top 10 list honoree.

The article highlights his recent transition from litigating to alternative dispute resolution as an arbitrator and mediator. After practicing alternative dispute resolution for nearly a decade and a half, Skip says his trial experience has provided him an in-depth understanding of the process, as well as an ability to help the parties understand the benefit of communicating important information during mediation. He is frequently selected as an arbitrator or mediator because of his extensive trial experience on both the plaintiff and defendant sides, his reputation for fairness, and his ability to get to the heart of the matter for quick resolution of even the most contentious cases.

“As an arbitrator, you have to really listen to the evidence to both sides to present a fair forum [and] make sure that the parties get a proceeding that is fair to everybody,” Netzorg said. “When you’re a trial lawyer, you’re the proponent of a position on behalf of your client, and you’re finding supporting cases and you’re making arguments” in a way to persuade a result in the client’s favor.
