DENVER, Colo. (April 22, 2020) — Law Week Colorado quoted Brooke Colaizzi in an article titled “Employers Pondering Layoffs Have Tough Choices.” The article, published on April 13, discusses the challenges that employers are facing as they seek economic relief from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brooke was quoted recommending that companies take time to review the many stimulus packages and assistance options available before deciding the proper course of action. “The CARES loans are extremely favorable to employers, but their forgiveness is tied directly to the employer’s ability to maintain payroll and to maintain employee count,” Colaizzi said. “It’s going to be difficult for a business to take advantage of those loans — at least full advantage of those loans — while simultaneously laying off employees.”
