KOA News Radio Interviews Carol Hildebrand on DACA Impact

September 6, 2017 – KOA News Radio interviewed Sherman & Howard Immigration lawyer, Carol Hildebrand, regarding the impact of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and becoming a United States citizen.

DACA, is an immigration policy that allows some individuals who entered the country illegally as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for a work permit.  According to Carol, “to become a U.S. citizen people first need to get permanent residency.”  She further states that to receive permanent residency the individual must meet the requirement of lawfully entering the U.S., which “Dreamers” do not qualify.
