U.S. Department of Commerce Announced Selection of David Wilson to the EU-US Privacy Shield Program

August 29, 2017 – The United States Department of Commerce announced the selection of David Wilson, Member of Sherman & Howard’s International Arbitration and Litigation Practice Group, to the list of arbitrators for the EU-US Privacy Shield Arbitration Program.

As one of 16 appointed arbitrators, Wilson will be resolving certain disputes that may arise between a Privacy Shield participant and individuals who believe that their rights have been violated.

More than 2,500 organizations participate in the Privacy Shield program to transfer personal data from the EU to the United States in compliance with EU data protection laws. The Framework provides strong and enforceable protections for personal data, while supporting hundreds of billions of dollars in transatlantic commerce.
