ColoradoBiz Magazine has published Jessica Arett’s legal advisory regarding a new Colorado law requiring more robust privacy programs to safeguard consumer data.  The new law, The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), goes into effect July 1 and will impose significant obligations for businesses and nonprofits to protect consumer data. Those businesses that fail to protect consumer data could face as much as a $20,000 fine per incident. Jessica spelled out eight ways business owners can prepare.
