More Changes Coming Your Way!
On April 8, 2014, President Obama issued an executive order titled “Non-Retaliation for Disclosure of Compensation Information,” prohibiting federal contractors and subcontractors from retaliating against an employee or applicant for inquiring about, discussing, or revealing their compensation or any other employee’s or applicant’s compensation. The Secretary of Labor must recommend implementing regulations by September 15, 2014, so stay posted for further details.
Additionally, on the same day, President Obama issued a memorandum to the Department of Labor titled “Advancing Pay Equality Through Compensation Data Collection,” requesting that by August 6, 2014, it propose a rule requiring federal contractors to provide summary compensation data.
