Rajesh “Raj” Kukreja’s practice focuses on family law and adoption, specializing in the complex and high conflict dissolution of marriage, custody, and contested adoption matters.

Presented with the unique challenges of his specialty, Raj has extensive experience with both trial work and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. He represents clients throughout Colorado, including communities in the Rocky Mountains and the Western slope. Representing parties through difficult and emotional family or adoption issues, he helps to create logical and coherent strategic plans to help clients attain their goals.

Raj serves as chair of the firm’s Litigation department.

Experience

  • Drafted and negotiated premarital agreements to help protect client assets exceeding $50 million.
  • Represented high net worth client in successfully enforcing the validity of premarital agreement protecting client’s significant assets, including interests in trusts.
  • Represented clients in obtaining favorable outcomes in multiple high conflict and highly contested dissolution of marriage actions involving valuations of closely held businesses, and/or commercial real estate holdings.
  • Represented client in successfully being awarded primary custody of a child in a complex interstate custody matter.
  • Successfully assisted clients, from the trial court level through the Colorado Supreme Court, in keeping intact the adoption of twin boys by them. In Interest of Baby A, 363 P.3d 193 (Colo. 2015).
