Experience

  • Successfully argued that a $300 million trust was the client’s separate property in a multistate divorce litigation.
  • Represented a client in a complex divorce involving multiple family businesses, international litigation, and interrelated litigation over control of the family estate. The representation required interaction with multiple law firms throughout the country handling different facets of the cases.
  • Litigated valuation of a private equity firm to capture future income streams earned by the owner during the marriage but not due to be received until after the divorce.
  • Negotiated a favorable settlement for a business owner with assets in multiple countries. Achieving the settlement required applications of discounts for risks associated with the political environment and restrictions on repatriation of funds for payment of property settlement.
