James “Jim” Lane is a member in the firm’s Public Finance department, and his practice focuses exclusively on state and federal tax issues related to the issuance of tax-exempt debt.
He has represented virtually every type of issuer of tax-exempt debt in Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, and other states. He has more than 28 years of experience dealing exclusively with the federal tax issues associated with the issuance of tax-exempt bonds.
Jim has worked as the primary tax counsel in Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Idaho on a multiplicity of unique transactions, including an extremely unique public practice partnership transaction that was awarded the Bond Buyers’ Financing of the Year for the Southwest Region [2010]. He is also a frequent presenter at national conferences dealing with tax-exempt bonds.
