We are seeking entrepreneurial-minded second-year law students with strong academic records, demonstrated leadership skills, and significant law school or community involvement.
The Summer Associate Program will be department-specific, that is, Summer Associates will work principally within the department for which they are recruited. Each department will focus on “real work,” training, mentoring, and providing opportunities to network with S&H colleagues.
S&H offers a competitive weekly summer salary. The program will run for 10 weeks, from May 31st through August 5th.

Sherman & Howard is partnering with an oil & gas client to offer an employment opportunity in which a 2016 law school graduate will be hired to work in the client’s Denver headquarters for approximately 24 months. The fellow will gain firsthand industry knowledge while helping to coordinate Sherman & Howard’s legal services to this fast-growing exploration and production company and its portfolio of midstream enterprises. After a successful completion of the employment period with the client, the fellow may be eligible to join Sherman & Howard as an associate in the Denver office.
Candidates should have an interest in the oil & gas industry, strong academic credentials, writing and oral skills, and an anticipated interest in practicing law in a private law firm following the in-house experience.
